The Sagamore Hotel on Lake George, NY, is a captivating haven nestled in Bolton Landing on an island in the midst of the stunning Lake George. Having experienced its allure about 15 years ago, the memories linger as an enduring source of inspiration. Year after year, my wife and I make it a point to revisit Bolton Landing, drawn by its sheer beauty and tranquility.

In 2021, armed with my trusty camera and a newfound companion – a drone – I set out to capture the essence of this picturesque retreat. The weekend's persistent winds had initially deterred me from taking flight, but as luck would have it, the last afternoon granted a respite. With the wind calming, I seized the opportunity to send my drone soaring over the lake.

The timing couldn't have been more perfect; the sun's descent painted the clouds with a kaleidoscope of colors. Peering through my VR goggles, the aerial views were nothing short of breathtaking. Playfully maneuvering the drone, I revelled in the sheer joy of flight. However, as the mesmerizing scenery unfolded, a sense of awe took over, and I transitioned into a more serious mode.

Navigating the drone over the expanse of the lake, the Sagamore Hotel emerged in all its glory. The vantage point offered by the drone showcased a perspective unparalleled by my previous boat trips on Lake George. Captivated by the majesty and beauty that unfolded on the screen, I couldn't help but capture the essence of the Sagamore and the surrounding islands.

The drone's lens immortalized the scene, freezing in time the stunning landscape that had, until then, only existed in my mind's eye. The images became more than mere photographs; they became windows into the ethereal beauty of Lake George and the architectural marvel that is the Sagamore Hotel. As the drone returned to solid ground, I couldn't shake the feeling that I had witnessed a hidden facet of this already enchanting destination, making the Sagamore even more special in my heart. . .
