In the heart of the Hudson Valley, New York, I, Alec Halstead, navigate life through the lens of a camera and the perspective of a 23-year military veteran. My journey has led me to witness and document the world's ugliness and horror. Yet, amidst the chaos, I've discovered an ability to find beauty in the smallest details—a gift I'm compelled to share with the world.

One crisp October night in 2014, I set out on a mission to capture the enchanting Harvest moon. Behind my barn, the air was crystal clear, carrying a gentle chill. The stillness was palpable, interrupted only by the scent of a freshly chopped cornfield. As the moon ascended, casting a mesmerizing deep orange glow, I embarked on a photographic journey.

With my camera in hand, I captured a series of about 20 pictures, each frame preserving the moon's grandeur. Returning to the warmth of my house, anticipation hung in the air as I downloaded the images. Amidst the shots, one photograph stood out—a mysterious object, absent in the others, demanding attention. Dumbfounded, I scrutinized the anomaly. It wasn't an airplane; it defied any logical explanation.

Driven by curiosity, I contacted a friend in the tower at the nearby base. Surprisingly, there was nothing on radar in that area. Intrigued and mystified, I shared the photo with experts far and wide, only to receive the same response—no reasonable explanation for the enigmatic object against the Harvest moon.

Years have passed, but the fascination lingers. This photograph, capturing the unexplained against the backdrop of celestial beauty, has become an indelible part of my journey. A storyteller with a lens, I continue my quest to share the profound beauty I see, embracing the mysteries that unfold before my camera.
